"We don't have a custom shop, we ARE a custom shop."
- Jol Dantzig, Founder of Hamer Guitars.
Every Hamer USA guitar is built by hand in their New England studio - unique instruments created by artists at the top of their game.
The top is a beautiful piece of 5/8" thick arched flame maple in Amber Burst finish on a solid mahogany body with single ply Italian cellulose ivoroid binding. The neck is select mahogany, grain matched to the body with a "vintage round" shape also with single ply ivoroid binding. The rosewood fingerboard has a 14.5" radius with genuine mother-of-pearl "Victory" style position markers immaculately inlaid; an ivory nut 1.650" wide and a 24.75" scale length. Pickups are US made Seymour Duncan'59s, with two custom taper volume controls, one tone and a Switchcraft three-way selector switch. Bridge hardware is Tone Pros TOM while the tuning is handled by German Schaller machines.
Hamer guitars have a look and feel of quality and playability lacking in many well known guitar brands today. If you want a new guitar that's "like they used to make 'em", then Hamer is a fine choice.
